GEM Buttress and BSP Thread Bungs


Gem two-inch buttress and BSP thread bungs are suitable for use as the closures of a variety of plastic and steel containers. Manufactured at our modern plant using the latest technology, these bungs are manufactured in a controlled environment where quality and hygiene are the priority.

The raw material used in the bungs is a polypropylene polymer. Due to the inherent strength of this material these bungs can withstand heavy shock and heavy impacts with ease and provide a very efficient seal against leaks or spills.

The buttress bungs are available in two versions:

The 50mm (2") Buttress thread combination bung with 3/4" BSP tap facility
The 50mm (2") Solid Buttress thread bung

The BSP threaded bung is as follows:

The bungs are fitted with one of four gasket seals depending on application and customer specifications and can be over sealed if necessary providing a second protective barrier. The four types of gasket seals available are:

White Nitrile
White EPDM
Viton
Polyethylene
